"Cumha Dhomhaill an Laguin" (trad. )

Piobaireachd excerpt from the Colin Campbell MS. (1797-1819)

Highland Great Pipe in A

Recorded in the ruins below Galtrigill~ home of the MacCrimmons until c173O

This Cumha, or bardic lament, commemorates Donald of Laggan (1543-1645).
It is attributed to Padraig Mor, one of the greatest of the MacCrimmon pipers.
For some time, it was played every night in Dunvegan Castle;
apparently, the chief's wife could not sleep without hearing her father's lament.
